Backstory : 15 years ago we installed one bathroom door, just one. It was a 28 inch (width) door.

So yesterday I was talking with the contractors about all the doors that need to be installed. Making sure they ordered the correct swing for each door. While talking about the doors, one of them mentioned that this other bathroom door size is 30 inches, which was different than the 28 inches we had ordered but they could still work with it by adding shimmys in the door frame.

While I was showering later at night I was wondering why when they built our house they would use different size doors. Then (lightbulb), I had a sudden realization that we may have gotten the wrong size for that one door we installed 15 years ago, and now because I used that one door as example for the rest, we’re going to the wrong size door for all the doors. Then it also dawned on me why that one door we installed 15 years ago was always a bit janky. It was always coming out of its drywall frame, it just never quite fitted perfectly.

(LOL)

3/6/2025 Update

So we did measure that one door we did 15 years ago right. LOL which makes it even more weird because why did they build our house with different size door ?!?!?
