Madrid : Day 1

First full day in Madrid, I was pretty much by myself until dinner time. After a quick hotel breakfast, Wzrd went off to work and I ventured out to Gran Via area just to wander and take in the sights.

I went to Los Caracoles for lunch, met the 90 year old owner that’s still working and running the restaurant. This place was recommended by a Spain Youtuber. I got their tripe stew, it was pretty good. The stew was a bit thicker than I thought it would be, but the flavor was fantastic. The owner would stop by often and talk to me in Spanish. He kept giving me extra bread and telling me to drip the bread into the stew. (LOL) The bread was a bit more dense than I’d prefer, so I didn’t eat too much of it.

After that I walked through Plaza Mayor into Gran Via. What a beautiful area center Madrid was! I loved all the architectures, the old European feels.

I ended the day meeting up with Wzrd and his work group for dinner. The food itself wasn’t that great, but it was fun getting to know everyone. My favorite from the dinner was the lobster rice 😙🤌. The other thing photoed was suppose to be the star of the restaurant but it felt really underwhelming to me, it is a thin steak + ham. + cheese fried. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just not my jam apparently. We didn’t leave dinner until 11pm! I was so exhausted by the end of the day.
