Miami

We’re on our last night in Miami. We’ve been here since Monday, and I’m so glad it is our last night. We’re getting on our cruise (Icon of the Seas) tomorrow !!

Miami is … well underwhelming. It’s hot and humid here, and we’re being eaten alive by mosquitos !! Everything is overpriced here, the hotel, the food. It’s quite disappointing. The quality for the price we pay is definitely not there.

It was cool checking out the iconic Ocean Drive. At night it is very lively. The atmosphere here is super chill. We loved that it wasn’t covered with franchises like in Waikiki. There are no Cheesecake Factory or LV right on the main strip. We tried a couple of taco places, one Cuban place, doordashed from a ramen place, and a cajun crab leg place. The only place that had good food was the cajun crab leg place, and we got fried rice and fried chicken wings from there. (LOL) The food here is such a miss, I honestly don’t understand how they got such high ratings on Google maps. It makes no sense. And don’t get me started on the lack of asian food here.

Overall, I’m not a fan of Miami. Unless it’s for a cruise, I would never come back here. Tomorrow is our embarkment day, I’m so excited !! We’re going to be on board the world’s newest, largest cruise ship. I hope it is everything they promised it will be.

This here is the Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive. Gianni Versace died right on those steps. I’m not a fan of Versace, in the fashion sense. But I loved his story on American Crime Stories. This was pretty much the only highlight/thing I wanted to see here in Miami. We were going to have lunch inside the mansion, but I cancelled last minute because the reviews of their food wasn’t the greatest.

Anyway … just wanted to write this quick update. We’re off to dinner in a few here. BYE !
